The longest running nightclub in Sheffield based in the South East of the city centre. Opening in 1980 it was formerly a Flour Mill.
In the early days, the likes of Jarvis Cocker, The Housemartins and laterly the Arctic Monkeys. Prince Charles visited the Leadmill in 1986 when it was more than just a nightclub and went on record as saying “A building well restored!” The Leadmill has won best live music venue on several occasions, the last being in 2019 by NME. It was awarded a Music Heritage Award by PRS for Music in 2015, which was unveiled by Pulp at an event broadcast live from the venue on BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq show.
On the 19th May, Def Leoppard played a one off gig in order to shed light on the plight of the club which ws given an eviction notice in 2022 but as yet, is thank fully still trading!
