A firm favourite by the Blades as it brought the end of an era of Wards sponsorship to a close. Planted firmly across the middle, it was a true sign of both the Blades, and Sheffield brewing industry. The kit was originally manufactured by Le Coq Sportif and was the first of the wider striped home shirts. The Blads opened the season with talisman Brian Deane back upfront v Sunderland. The show was of course stolen by Vas Borbokis, a relatively unknown full back from Greece.
